Folks, here is a very enlightening washingtontimes editorial that gives us some interesting facts illustrating the hypocrisy in Al Gore's global-scare about "global warming."

While Gore is jet-setting all over the place and gobbling up fossil fuel faster than you can say "enrich Ahmadinijad," President Bush is light years ahead of him by constraining the carbon footprint of his own home and property in Crawford, Texas.

"In recent weeks, chortling e-mail comparisons of President Bush's relatively eco-friendly Texas ranch with the energy-gobbling Tennessee mansion of former Vice President Al Gore have buzzed around the Internet. Chiefly of interest to global-warming skeptics, they also find an audience with anyone with a taste for measuring hypocrisy. Is this churlish? Sure. It is a game of "gotcha"? You bet.

The facts virtually guarantee that this would happen. Mr. Bush is supposedly anti-environment. Mr. Gore is supposed to be the environmental conscience of the nation... But only one of these men lives in a home straight out of "Bobos in Paradise," and it's not Al Gore.

...Mr. Bush's 4,000-square-foot home uses geothermal heat from water pumped 300 feet into the earth, where the temperature is a constant 67 degrees. The water warms the home in winter and cools it in summertime. The system uses an estimated 25 percent of the electricity in comparable home heating and air-conditioning units. Mr. Bush's ranch is relatively water-efficient thanks to a 25,000-gallon underground cistern, which purifies rain and home wastewater before the newly clean water is used to irrigate the surrounding landscape of native high-prairie plants and flowers. In other words, Mother Earth can breathe easy.

The particulars of Mr. Gore's 20-room, 10,000-square-foot Belle Meade mansion are by now well known, thanks to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. The Gore house consumes more energy in a month than the average American household does in a year. Mr. Gore spent nearly $30,000 on gas and electricity in 2006..."

First, those who talk the talk should also walk the walk... Second, and what's less obvious: If we're talking about hypocrisy and not questioning the underlying goal of reducing one's "carbon footprint," shouldn't the left be pleased that such a major victory for the environmentally conscious has taken place? We should think so. But we're not hearing it..."

Nancy Pelosi foolishly violates Constitution... and, perhaps, the federal Logan Act...

Linked below are two articles related to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's arrogant extra-constitutional activities in which she inserted herself, foolishly and detrimentally, into federal foreign affairs and diplomacy---against the wishes of the President of the United States.

Mme. Pelosi presumed to substitute herself and her own faulty judgment for that of President Bush and Secretary of State Condaleeza Rice, in foreign policy and diplomacy, without having been elected to a position which affords her the right to do so.

The President is the only elected official who is elected by all of the American people in a national election. Pelosi was only elected to represent California's House District that comprises the uber-liberal San Francisco area.

Being elected Speaker of the House by a slim majority of House members does not grant Pelosi presidential powers, diplomatic powers held by the Secretary of State, or a mandate to meddle in and manipulate powers granted specifically to the Executive Branch of government by the U.S. Constitution. It is not her right to expand Legislative Branch powers to suit herself and her grandiose idea of her importance..

Pelosi's engagment in an illicit shadow presidency and making a grab for Executive Branch powers is unacceptable. Her delusions of grandeur and self-inflated importance are increasingly making a joke of her and like-minded fellow Democrats in Congress. They would be well-advised to kick her to the curb.

I agree with Jerry Zeifman. Pelosi should resign. She has seriously abused her limited powers as Speaker of the House, abused House Rules, and may well have violated federal law---namely the Logan Act.

It brings to mind the efforts of Joseph P. Kennedy, the founder of the Kennedy dynasty, to appease Adolf Hitler...

But the Iraqis realize the importance and value of having America's brave GI "Joes" and "Janes" stay in Iraq until their mission is, in fact, accomplished.

Without American military support in standing up a strong Iraqi government, army, police force, and security force, there will be no real "victory."

If Democrats cut off the purse-strings for the war and force American troops to cut'n'run, Iraq's terrorist neighbors will easily swallow them up... and all our fallen troops will have died in vain. Then, Americans will have to face a far more serious and empowered terrorist onslaught.

Soooo...., the onus is now on the anti-war Democrats. If they pull the rug from under our troops and the war, the responsibility for failure and diminution of U.S. power abroad will be their legacy. As will any increase of terrorism in the United States following a Dem-instigated retreat.

Folks, here is the Democrats' rogues' gallery of what the face of the House of Representatives will look like with a Speaker Nancy Pelosi and radical Democrats as Committee Chairs...

In the lower right corner is Charlie Rangel, who will raise our taxes by letting President Bush's tax cuts expire---which would be ruinous to the enormously strong and successful Bush economy.

At lower front center is Alcee Hastings, a former convicted felon who was removed from a federal court judgeship and later elected to the U.S. House of Representativesand allowed by that Democrat-controlled body to be seated again.

At center-row-left is the Congressional "king of pork and earmark-dealing" Jack Murtha, who slandered our troops in Iraq as murderers and wants to yank them out of Iraq and exile them to the Pacific island of Okinawa.

The hand on Nancy "San Francisco values" Pelosi's shoulder is that of Barnie Frank, an openly gay House member from Massachusetts who had a male prostitute living with him and running a male-prostitution ring from his house. Frank was then re-elected and seated... again and again.

The rest of this hard-left crowd are similarly objectionable. And they're salivating to pursue endless destructive investigations of the Bush Administration and do their level best to impeach our President who restored honor and dignity to a White House that had been sullied and debased by Bill Clinton and his immoral actions---even in the Oval Office.

Need I say more...? Vote tommorow like our lives, country, and democracy depend on it... because they do...!

This is what the dangerous Democrats will do if they manage to take back the U.S. House of Representatives... It's a sure bet...!

They will also try to dismantle the Patriot Act and other national security measures put into place to protect us and our homeland from radical Islamo-fascist terrorists... and shove their radical leftist morals, values, programs, agenda and activist federal judges down our throats.

Democrats do not have the will, the desire, or any plan to win the Iraq War, which is the major front in the War Against Terrorism. For that, the terrorists have endorsed them to win this election.

Vote defensively tomorrow---to protect our troops, our President, and 26 million Iraqis who risked their lives to vote for a democratic form of government. John Kerry showed us this week the kind of loathing Democrats have for our troops. Your vote may well be the deciding factor on whether or not we win the Iraq War and the War Against Terrorism...!!

This is the runaway-bride-eyed-scary U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who has been lying totally low during the run-up to the November 7th mid-term national election.

Yeah..., I know. She's enough to make most thinking Americans and small animals run for cover... Worse than that, she'll be the Speaker of the House---and third in line for the Presidency---if the Democrats win back the House of Representatives. Now that's a horrifying prospect...!

Soooo....., we all need to start a "Wheeeerrre's Naaaannncy Peloooosssi?" campaign. She need's to come out of hiding to answer questions about her uber-radical anti-everything to the right of hard-left voting record, don'cha think...? Including her two-faced anti-labor position when it comes to her and her husband's own business enterprises---vineyards and restaurants.

We also need to start a "Wheeeerrre's Haaaarrry Reeeeid?" campaign, since the U.S. Senate Minority Leader's also been lying low since the facts came out about his miraculous sale of a Nevada property he hadn't even owned for 3 years... for a tidy$1.1 million dollars profit that he conveniently hid and "overlooked" reporting to the FEC. Tell me, how does a law-abiding person manage to sell property he doesn't even own? I'd like to hear all about it straight from the wheeler-dealer's mouth, wouldn't you?

Newsflash...! Democrat sex scandal...! Senator Dan Sutton, D-UT, accused of "groping" male page in hotel room, spurring criminal investigation...

The father of a teenage Senate Page has filed a complaint with the Attorney General against South Dakota Legislature's Democrat Senator Dan Sutton---for physically "groping" his son. Sutton's lawyer said Sutton will not resign, so now there are two investigations: the criminal investigation already being conducted by the SD Atty. General and the one that will commence on Nov. 27, 2006 in the state legislature.

This is a sex scandal which, unlike the one involving former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley, does involve actual physical, sexual contact---namely, a sexual assault.

So, I guess we'll soon be seeing if the major mainstream media will run with this sexual assault story---or bury it. Since this scandal involves a Democrat, my prediction is that they will do the latter. It's what they do.

Sutton, who is seeking re-election, has not responded publicly to the allegations...

The Senate's interest is finding out what, if anything, happened to one of the students who were entrusted to us and how to ensure it's not going to happen in the future with the next group of kids coming in January," said Republican Sen. Lee Schoenbeck, president pro tem of the Senate. "It's completely separate from any criminal investigation...

In South Dakota, the page reported the incident to the attorney general's office within two days of the alleged misconduct... The former page's father filed a formal complaint alleging that Sutton invited the page to stay overnight in his motel room and then groped the young man.

...letter told Sutton that if he did not resign within a week, the Senate would start formal proceedings to investigate and possibly punish the senator. Sutton did not resign, so the top Senate leaders from both political parties asked Gov. Mike Rounds to call the chamber into a special session.

Attorney General Larry Long has said only that a criminal investigation is continuing. On Tuesday, the Legislature's Executive Board subpoenaed Long's office for all information related to the investigation.

If Sutton wins re-election next week, the Senate in January would have to decide whether to seat him..."

What a perfect comeback to John Kerry's condescending elitism and arrogance. You gotta' love it...!

Their message has now been transmitted 'round the world, forcing Kerry from a belligerent refusal to apologize... to a tortured pseudo "apology."

Next, they should teach the Massachusetts obliquer a lesson on how to give a straightforward and sincere lie-less apology. I'm sorry what I said was misinterpreted and I apologize to anyone was offended just doesn't get it. Kerry's made it all about him and cast himself as a poor misunderstood victim... who didn't say what he actually said... and it's all George W. Bush's fault.

I'm thinkin' "Non-apology apologies don't count. Suck it up and apologize like a man...!" sounds good for a still-absent-apology follow-up sign.

In fact, what he does is he suggests that anyone who took umbrage at my remarks is bad. He's attacked people who took his remark as an attack on the military.

But wait a minute. The military took his remark as an attack on the military. He ought to simply apologize. Why can he not bring himself to say, 'I'm sorry. I made a mistake. I'm sorry I insulted you. I didn't mean to do it. Will you please accept my apology and move on?' But he can't bring himself to say it..."

This is a great column that explains John Kerry's and other liberals' assumed superiority and self-appointed right to call anyone who disagrees with them "stupid." They've done it to George W. Bush... big time! And that is what John Kerry did each time he insulted our troops in Iraq and, most especially, when he did it earlier this week when this is what he said and how he said it:

“'You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq.'

That was what Sen. John Kerry inarticulately said to a bunch of college kids... And then Kerry gave a small, smug smile. With American troops on the battlefield, fighting and dying, he had exhibited his superior intellect by insulting their character and intelligence. After the explosion of criticism that followed his comments, Kerry indignantly refused to apologize and, without a trace of humor, declared the insulting remark was a “botched joke...”

About liberals' assumed superiority, Ed Morrow also tells us "James Baldwin wryly defined a liberal as “someone who thinks he knows more about your experience than you do.” To that, we can add, “and who thinks, because of his superior knowledge, he should be making your decisions for you...”

"Members of a unit under the command of the Minnesota National Guard turn out to be the creators of an intentionally misspelled sign that takes a mocking shot at Sen. John Kerry...

...Lt. Col. Kevin Olson, a spokesman for the Minnesota National Guard, said the "Red Bull" logo and the number on the bumper of the truck "1-34" indicate that the soldiers in the picture are under the command of a Minnesota unit. It is impossible... to say whether any of the eight soldiers in the photo are Minnesotans, because the unit also has soldiers from five other states...

Major Jay Adams, chief of public affairs with the 13 Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) and Logistics Support Area Anaconda, confirmed the soldiers holding the banner in the photo are members of the 1/34th. Adams said the sign was "created as a humorous response to remarks made during a recent political speech and demonstrates the wit and longstanding sardonic humor of the American soldier at war..."

Showing his own stupidity, Senator John F. Kerry, D-Massachusetts maligned U.S. troops serving in Iraq... AGAIN...! This week was not the first time.

Senator John Kerry's mug-shot from Yale University... before he tried to get a deferment to keep from fighting in the Vietnam War...

John Kerry's Yale mug shot... Kerry was a "D" student (4 D's) his first year at Yale and he was graduated with a C- average. Not so hot for a U.S. Senator who today disparages the intellect and educational success of American troops fighting in the Iraq War.

Kerry also continues to slander and disparage President George W. Bush's intelligence, when we all know that Bush had higher SAT scores and made better grades at Yale than Kerry. Bush also finished Harvard Graduate School with a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). Yet the condescending, elitist never lets the facts stop him from trying to smear Bush as being stupid and incompetent---which he definitely is not and never has been.

Kerry always imputes negative attributes to others that he, himself, has---in order to deflect attention from his own flaws and reprehensible actions. He also never lets the truth stand in his way about his fake heroism and medals from the Vietnam War and he still refuses to make public his entire military record (including medical) or explain how he got out of Vietnam after serving there only 4 and 1/2 months. Or who the Viet Kong communists were that he met with in Paris while slandering our troops and working on forcing them to cut and run from Vietnam.

So, let's see all those records now and how fit Kerry was to serve in the military at all---or when he continued to fight against the Vietnam War (founded the VVAW) and met with communist Viet Kong while still an officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

Kerry wasn't fit to serve in the U.S. military then... and he isn't fit now to serve as a Senator in the U.S. Congress, where he has built his more than 30 year career on his fake hero record and on the backs of 50K American troops who died in Vietnam.

Resign now, Senator Kerry...!

While the poisonously hard-left New York Times buried the media-storm story about John Kerry's dissing and maligning American troops as so stupid they have to go into the military and go fight in Iraq because that's all they're qualified to do---on page 19A, paragraph 15 of the column---The Washington Times published an Editorial lambasting Kerry, who was a C- student at Yale, saying "the senator gives elitism a bad name..."

Other big papers had the story on the front page, above the fold, featured in the headlines. But then, we already knew The Times always slants their always-political "news" in favor of and consistently protecting Democrats.

Here we have John Kerry and Ted Kennedy 35 years ago when they worked to force cutting and running from Vietnam. Now the 2 lifelong politicians from Massachusetts are working to force our troops to cut and run from Iraq. They undermined a sitting President then, just like they've undermined President George W. Bush and our troops in Iraq for the past three years.

Today, a defiant John Kerry refused to apologize to U.S. troops in Iraq and their families for his denigrating remarks that Iraq is where young people will end up if they don't get educated. And this was not the first time he maligned our troops in Iraq.

Anti-war Kerry does not want a military that actually goes to war. He wants a "trophy" military, sorta' like he has trophy war medals he never earned and a wealthy trophy wife to support him in his political campaigns. But most of all he wants the ultimate trophy... the White House. And he's still smarting mightily that he didn't get it in 2004.

In his extremely harsh press conference today, Kerry's abject hatred for President Bush and Republicans was palpable, as he bleated a stunningly hostile rejoinder to Tony Snow's and John McCain's criticisms and calls for him to apologize for his slur against our troops yesterday when speaking to an audience of college students in Pasadena, CA.

Kerry gave several histrionic press conferences today, in the last one shouting "I apologize to no one...!" That was after trying to spin his remarks as having been directed at President Bush... but his actual words yesterday give the lie to that spin.

Meanwhile, his fellow anti-war Senator from Massachusetts was also having to defend himself in the media for his aiding and abetting the U.S.S.R. during the Reagan years---as has just come out in a new book. Problem with Kennedy's denial is that the former Soviet Union's archives were opened and documents from it were released that show that Kennedy did offer to arrange for the American media to put out Breznev's propaganda---and, as the new book states, also Andropov's---in support of the U.S.S.R.'s position in the Cold War. There are two postings in PelicanPost archives on this subject, posted along with the same picture you see above. I would like to see translated copies of all of those Soviet archival documents referring to Edward (Ted) Kennedy, who was already a U.S. Senator when he was undermining the Vietnam War, was a Senator when he undermined the Cold War and is now a Senator who undermines the Iraq war.

Seems to be a hard-left habit that neither of the Senators from Massachusetts are either able or willing to break.

I've heard of no further rants from John Kerry since this statement by President Bush tonight: "The Senator’s suggestion is insulting and shameful," Bush said. Rep. John Boehner was on John Gibson's show on FNC, as they waited for Bush to speak about Kerry's remark. When Gibson asked Boehner if he thought Kerry would apologize, Boehner said he'd better, because "if he doesn't, we'll beat him up until he does..." I'm good with that.

Stay tuned, folks... This media-storm won't be ending any time soon. Personally, I'm delighted to see some heat on John Kerry for his arrogant faux pas grande---one week out from the election---reminding everyone why they voted the way they did in 2004. And why we absolutely must keep a Republican Congress---both House of Representatives and Senate.

There are too many variables in polling and ways polling can be manipulated for political advantage---for any informed, intelligent person to take polls seriously. Especially external polls.

The important thing is to VOTE!

With all the threats to our national security, economy and sovereignty, this is no time to be apathetic and allow the socialist Democrats of the hard-left to dismantle successful new national security and economic measures that have been put into place by a Republican President and Republican Congress to protect America and the American people.

Case in point on page 1A of the nytimes today, where they feature a horse-drawn cason with a flag-draped coffin moving through Arlington National Cemetery to bury a fallen member of the U.S. military who was killed by terrorists in Iraq. (Cason shown at drudgereport)

They do not feature the heroic American soldier, however. They use that dead soldier as an anti-war propaganda item to tout the violent month in Iraq, tout the high number of U.S. military deaths, and highlight that this was "little comfort to a 6-year-old girl weeping at the grave of her father, a mother clutching the flag from her son’s coffin, or a widow walking slowly through the rain behind her husband’s honor guard..." They even were so crass as to show a picture of that 6-year old child sobbing at the burial.

They made this front page news during the final run-up to the national election. And this is what the Times has been feeding a steady diet of to Americans and the world for the past 3 years---using flag-draped coffins and grieving families as props for their war against the Iraq War and the Bush Administration.

Exactly one week before the national election, hard-left CNN has just aired an extensive political hit piece on George Bush and Administration policy, the Bush Doctrine, Republicans in Congress, and Republicans running for Congress. A big, huge honkin' smear.

The name of this ultra-dramatized hatchet-job---in which CNN uses some disgruntled Republicans to reinforce their broad-brush view that government under Republican leadership is corrupt, overcome by power, and incompetent---is "Broken Government."

CNN's main objective in this partisan yellow production---enhanced by a tone of impending doom throughout and an air of something sinister and evil---is to influence the election against all Republicans running for election or re-election to Congress. This incremental production was a prime example of electioneering to indoctrinate the American electorate one week out from the election.

The power-starved and embittered hard-left's politics of personal destruction hit machine has just pulled off the ultimate dirty trick---a one-sided high profile political-hit advertisement... in prime time... on cable television... with no opportunity for rebuttal by the other side.

If anyone out there had any doubt about the abject bias of CNN, their "Broken Government" series should remove all of it. Almost as reprehensible was Wolf Blitzer's hatchet job on Lynn Cheney, in which he blindsided, grilled and tried to smear Cheney about "sexual content" in books she had written in the past---when she had been invited on his show to talk about her new children's book ," Our 50 States."

Of course, Cheney made it clear that the accusations---made by Jim Webb, George Allen's opponent in the VA Senate race---were outright lies, but Blitzer kept it up even after she complained that she had already spent most of the 15 minutes of Blitzer's interview responding to questions about comments her husband had made and comments made by Webb.

Blitzer wanted to make some news at Lynn Cheney's expense to counter the expose of Webb's explicit sexual content in one of his books regarding a sexual act performed on a four-year-old boy. (Read it at drudgereport.)

It's no wonder that CNN's viewership is continuing to go down the tubes. Now the FEC should investigate them for their blatant electioneering and political campaign contribution to the Democrat Party and all Democrats now running for Congress, during the six-week period before a national election---something we all know to be a violation of federal law.

Since CNN is intent on presenting a broad picture of corruption, why don't they do a "Corrupt Democrats" production, including Jack Murtha's finally exposed role in the sensastional ABSCAM scandal---as shown in "the full 54-minute FBI Abscam surveillance video proving U.S. Rep. Jack Murtha (D.-Pa.) negotiated a $50,000 cash bribe from a man he believed to be an agent of a rich Arab sheik—but who was in reality an undercover agent for the FBI."

And while CNN's "Broken Government" implies that Republicans are responsible for the "earmark pork" slipped anonymously into Congressional bills, here's the truth about who is the real power in the Congressional porkbarrel machine: Jack Murtha was " recently listed as one of the most corrupt members of congress by the Center for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington. More recently, Murtha was subject of a New York Times piece titled “Trading Votes for Pork Across the House Aisle,” where he said, “Deal making is what Congress is all about...” (More at humanevents.)

Sooooo..., CNN... how about it? Great reporting today on Michelle Malkin's blog about the traitorous Times' hiding its mea culpa well inside the paper. This atypical mea culpa is too long coming and doesn't cover all the national security leaks the Times has published this year, placing intel and military personnel at risk---not to mention Americans everywhere in the world.

It's easy to see why this hard-left liberal rag's circulation has been cut almost in half, their page size has been cut 5% and their advertising revenues have taken an enormous hit.

According to Dick Morris and Eileen McGann, Hillary Clinton lost her debate with Republican John Spencer---her opponent in the U.S. Senate race in New York. Spencer did not hesitate to challenge the Iron Matron and give her a sharp reminder, when she was using the debate as a political opportunity to slam President Bush and acknowledge that she is thinking about running for president in 2008, that she is "not the President yet."

Shame on New York Republicans for not actively supporting Spencer. They appear to have just written him off and left him to twist in the political winds. Too bad. They could have given him some high-profile publicity that would have helped him in this race and in the future.

They also missed an opportunity to spend a couple of months running national ads to rough up the totally-scripted, answer-no-questions, presidential-hopeful former "first lady," who is known to have used off-camera gutter language that no self-respecting "lady" would ever use---before she gets in full presidential-campaign mode.

From her expressions of irritation and contempt shown in the video-clips and pictures of the debate, it's easy to conclude that the Iron Matron was having to really bite that tarnished tongue.

If Clinton's skin is that thin in a Senate-race debate, imagine how she will respond to renewed questions about such things as her mysteriously elusive Rose Law Firm billing records and her U.S. Grand Jury non-testimony where her compliant memory failed her over 50 times---when contenders in the race for President go for her jugular.

But beyond the words, there were the appearances. Hillary Clinton was a Richard Nixon look-alike tonight---angry at having to waste time justifying her Senate tenure in something as trivial as an election.

Just one of the many predictable and manipulatable variables in polling by the hard-left and their liberal mainstream media partners in distortion...

What's going on today with this usual-suspects cook-the-poll-numbers crowd is that they're trying to create a self-fullfilling prophecy---just like they tried and failed to achieve in 2002 and 2004.

"I don't care how many times I hear it, I refuse to believe that significant numbers of conservatives will stay home in November and thereby assist the Democratic Party to regain control of Congress.

Here's another, demonstrating how an activist Florida judge and the Democrats are electioneering to deny Republicans the right to be equally informed as to how their votes will be allocated in a FL U.S. House of Representatives race in the 2006 national election. They want to hide the name of the current Republican candidate Joe Negron from view, in an effort to confuse Republican voters and cost Joe Negron votes.

Dems even went to court to keep Republican voters from being informed/educated about how to cast their votes and be sure they are credited to Negron. The ruling is being appealed, but it's only 3 weeks to the election

But a new wind is a-blowin' an' the numbers they are a-movin'---toward Republican candidates. U. S. Rep from Rhode Island, Patrick Kennedy did his mea culpa and rushed-to-rehab-to-get-out-of-the-political-heat. Now he wants Rhode Islanders to believe he is all well and suddenly fit to be re-elected to the U.S. Congress.

Yeah..., he ran to rehab and Dems praised him. But just let a Republican run to rehab... and they kick and smear him while he's down.

Of course, they kick and smear almost all conservatives... especially the current President of the United States. It's what they do. Interminably.

Whoa...! Drudge is reporting that Senator Reid hung up on the Associated Press when called for a comment about the now-exposed ca. 1.1 million dollar "sweetheart deal" that was pulled off along with a long-time friend and pseudo-official "partner."

Just a little---okaaay, maybe a lot---of sleight of hand manipulation of dollars and numbers to allegedly hide minor things like ownership of land, payment or non-payment of taxes, and miss-reporting on his federally-required-of-Senators financial disclosures to the SEC. Never mind that he is reported to have violated Senate Ethics Rules.

Now, isn't Reid one of the host of Democrat pots calling Republican Mark Foley black for the past week or more...? And one who has been calling our President crass names for the past 5-1/2 years and screeching about a Republican "culture of corruption?"

Is Reid now going to be the one caught in the cross-hairs, or will the usual mainstream media suspects go silent on what smells here like corruption? I have to admit I was surprised that the AP actually broke this news and put it out there for public consumption. Kudos to them.

What is it that Democrat Representative Mollohan is being investigated for? Using earmarks to enrich himself and his buddies while in office...? Soooo...., has Bush-bashing Harry Reid used his office to enrich himself... and others?

I do believe there should be an immediate Congressional investigation of Reid's alleged windfall profits, possible influence peddling and false, untimely or missing financial disclosures. Now. Before the November 7 election, so voters will have all the facts.

We need to know exactly what Reid did, why and how he did it, how he and his buddy benefited, how much they benefited, and how he will be punished if he is proven to have, in fact, miss-reported or failed to report his finances to a federal government entity. And whatever else these characters have pulled off that may have had the advantage of influence due to Reid's official position and clout as a U.S. Senator?

It's only fair.

"AP Exclusive: Reid Got $1M in Land Sale"

"Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid collected a $1.1 million windfall on a Las Vegas land sale even though he hadn't personally owned the property for three years, property deeds show... In the process, Reid did not disclose to Congress an earlier sale in which he transferred his land to a company created by a friend and took a financial stake in that company, according to records and interviews.

The Nevada Democrat's deal was engineered by Jay Brown, a longtime friend and former casino lawyer whose name surfaced in a major political bribery trial this summer and in other prior organized crime investigations. He's never been charged with wrongdoing _ except for a 1981 federal securities complaint that was settled out of court.

Land deeds obtained by The Associated Press during a review of Reid's business dealings show:
_The deal began in 1998 when Reid bought undeveloped residential property on Las Vegas' booming outskirts for about $400,000. Reid bought one lot outright, and a second parcel jointly with Brown. One of the sellers was a developer who was benefiting from a government land swap that Reid supported...

_In 2001, Reid sold the land for the same price to a limited liability corporation created by Brown. The senator didn't disclose the sale on his annual public ethics report or tell Congress he had any stake in Brown's company. He continued to report to Congress that he personally owned the land.

_After getting local officials to rezone the property for a shopping center, Brown's company sold the land in 2004 to other developers and Reid took $1.1 million of the proceeds, nearly tripling the senator's investment. Reid reported it to Congress as a personal land sale.

The complex dealings allowed Reid to transfer ownership, legal liability and some tax consequences to Brown's company without public knowledge, but still collect a seven-figure payoff nearly three years later.

Reid hung up the phone when questioned about the deal during an AP interview last week...

Senate ethics rules require lawmakers to disclose on their annual ethics report all transactions involving investment properties _ regardless of profit or loss _ and to report any ownership stake in companies...

Kent Cooper, who oversaw government disclosure reports for federal candidates for two decades in the Federal Election Commission, said Reid's failure to report the 2001 sale and his ties to Brown's company violated Senate rules. "This is very, very clear," Cooper said. "Whether you make a profit or a loss you've got to put that transaction down so the public, voters, can see exactly what kind of money is moving to or from a member of Congress...

SALE HIDDEN FROM CONGRESS... Reid and his wife, Landra, personally signed the deeds selling their full interest in the property to Brown's company, Patrick Lane LLC, for the same $400,000 they paid in 1998, records show.

Despite the sale, Reid continued to report on his public ethics reports that he personally owned the land until it was sold again in His disclosure forms to Congress do not mention an interest in Patrick Lane or the company's role in the 2004 sale.

AP first learned of the transaction from a former Reid aide who expressed concern the deal hadn't been properly reported.

Reid isn't listed anywhere on Patrick Lane's corporate filings with Nevada, even though the land he sold accounted for three-quarters of the company's assets. Brown is listed as the company's manager... The informalities didn't stop there.

PROPERTY TAXES LOOSELY HANDLED... And the two men continued to pay the property taxes from their personal checking accounts even after the land was sold to Patrick Lane in 2001, records show... One year the taxes were delinquent and resulted in a small penalty, the records show.

Ethics experts said such informality raises questions about whether any of Brown's tax payments amounted to a benefit for Reid. "It might be a gift," Cooper said...

FEDERAL LAND SWAPS... Nevada land deeds show Reid and his wife first bought the property in January 1998 in a proposed subdivision created partly with federal lands transferred by the Interior Department to private developers. Reid's two lots were never owned by the government, but the piece of land joining Reid's property to the street corner _ a key to the shopping center deal _ came from the government in 1994... For years, Reid also had been encouraging Interior to make land swaps on behalf of Del Webb, where one of his former aides worked.

In 1994, Reid wrote a letter with other Nevada lawmakers on behalf of Del Webb, and then met personally with a top federal land official in Nevada. That official claimed in media reports he felt pressured by the senator. Reid denied any pressure.

The next year, Reid collected $18,000 in political donations from Del Webb's political action committee and employees. Del Webb's efforts to get federal land dragged on. In December 1996, Reid wrote a second letter on behalf of Del Webb, urging Interior to answer the company's concerns. The deal came together in summer and fall 1997... A real estate attorney handled the 1998 sale at arms-length, aides said.

THE REZONING... Clark County intended for the property Reid owned to be used solely for new housing, records show. Just days before Reid sold the parcels to Brown's company, Brown sought permission in May 2001 to rezone the properties so a shopping center could be built.

Career zoning officials objected... The town board in Spring Valley, where Reid's property was located, also voted 4-1 to reject the rezoning. Brown persisted. The Clark County zoning board followed by the Clark County Commission voted to overrule the recommendation and approve commercial zoning...

Before the approval in September 2001, Brown's consultant told commissioners that Reid was involved. "Mr. Brown's partner is Harry Reid, so I think we have people in this community who you can trust to go forward and put a quality project before you," the consultant testified.
With the rezoning granted, Patrick Lane pursued the shopping center deal. On Jan. 20, 2004, the company sold the property to developers for $1.6 million...

On Jan. 21, 2004, Reid received more than $1.1 million of the sale proceeds. Reid disclosed the money the following year on his Senate ethics report as a personal sale of land, not mentioning Patrick Lane..."

A BUSINESS PARTNER'S PAST... Brown has been a behind-the-scenes power broker in Nevada for years, donating to Democrats, Republicans and charities. He represented a major casino in legal cases and dabbled in Nevada's booming real estate market.

Brown befriended Reid four decades ago, even before Reid served as chairman of the Nevada gaming commission and decided cases involving Brown's clients. Brown's name has surfaced in federal investigations involving organized crime, casinos and political bribery since the 1980s..."

Well, it's about time...! Especially since we have come to know that Berger's determined objective was to steal and destroy evidence of Bill Clinton's failure to act upon terrorist threats during his tenure in the White House. Or to treat terrorism as anything other than a criminal offense. Clinton chose to pass up known opportunities to take out Osama bin Laden.

By stealing and destroying those highly classified documents to keep them out of the 9/11 Commission Report, Berger aided Bill Clinton in his coverup and denial of responsibility. For his violations of federal law, Berger was given a slap-on-the-wrist fine of $50K---and no jail time. He got no punishment for lying about his crimes. He got a sweet plea deal.

Scooter Libby must be amazed that Berger got off essentially scott free after actually admitting he lied, while Libby is being crucified for supposedly lying about something for which there was no underlying crime---and the Democrat political prosecuter has known all along that there was no underlying crime. Plus, he knew who actually had "outed" Valerie Plame Wilson and it was Richard Armitage, not Scooter Libby. Shades of malicious and false prosecution..., nodou'taboutit...!

Folks, if you or I did what "Stickyfingers" Berger did, we'd be cooling our heels in federal stoney-lonesome. And we still don't know who it was that Berger telephoned from the National Archives while he was in the process of squirreling away stolen documents in his pants

"A group of House Republicans called Wednesday for a congressional investigation into the improper handling of classified documents by President Clinton's national security adviser, Sandy Berger.

Berger admitted last year that he deliberately took classified documents out of the National Archives in 2003 and destroyed some of them at his office. He pleaded guilty in federal court to one charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material and was fined $50,000." (Not theft and destruction... and just blow off the lying...)

"Ten lawmakers led by House Armed Services Chairman Duncan Hunter, R- Calif., and Judiciary Chairman James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., released a letter calling for the House Government Reform Committee to investigate... to determine whether any documents were missing from Clinton administration terrorism records, to review security measures for classified documents and to seek testimony from Berger...

"It's important that the House conduct its own review to ensure there is a clear understanding of the facts, and sensitive and highly classified security information is not potentially compromised in the future..."

At issue is a strange sequence of events in which Berger admitted to sneaking classified documents out of the National Archives in his suit, later destroying some of them and then lying about it. The Bush administration disclosed the investigation in July 2004, just days before the Sept. 11 commission issued its final report...."

The Left quickly attempted the shopworn tactic of pinning the blame on the Bush administration’s rhetoric or unwillingness to bribe Kim Jong-il. Early this morning, Joseph Cirincione of the George Soros-funded Center for American Progress told CNN, “They had numerous opportunities to negotiate a deal…They did not.” He concluded, “I think the North Koreans came to that conclusion: that there is no deal to be had with this administration, and they decided they had nothing to lose.”

By way of commentary, the popular left-wing blog The Daily Kos quoted Selig S. Harrison from the international edition of Newsweek:

North Korea's missile tests in July and its threat last week to conduct a nuclear test explosion at an unspecified date “in the future” were directly provoked by the U.S. sanctions. In North Korean eyes, pressure must be met with pressure to maintain national honor and, hopefully, to jump-start new bilateral negotiations with Washington that could ease the financial squeeze...

The Kos feels no need to explain which U.S. provocation justified the birth of the North Korean nuclear program in 1994 – during Bill Clinton’s presidency – nor... the DPRK's... firing a missile over the Japanese mainland and threatening to strike the United States.

Worse yet, Kim Jong-il’s methods have paid off handsomely. Each act of brinksmanship has brought cash, supplies, oil, nuclear reactors, or additional concessions from the West. Within two months of the Taepo Dong missile scraping across Nippon in August 1998, President Clinton sent North Korea a multi-million dollar aid package and reopened bilateral negotiations.

The Dear Leader’s nuclear test could not have occurred without Bill Clinton’s decade of dalliance. Clinton could have obliterated the Yongbyong reactor with one strike when he first learned of North Korea’s covert nuclear program in 1994. Instead, he allowed Jimmy Carter’s private foreign policy to preempt him. Upon completing the “Agreed Framework” in 1994, Clinton stated, “This agreement will help achieve a vital and long-standing American objective: an end to the threat of nuclear proliferation on the Korean peninsula.” We now know the $4.6 billion bribe gave the Communists the two nuclear reactors they used to create their current arsenal....

The Democratic Party has defined its defense policy in opposition to the concept of defense. For more than two decades, the Democratic Party has worked in concert to block any missile defense program and castigated those who tried to shield the United States from a doomsday device... Bill Clinton pledged his support for a missile shield in theory during his 1996 re-election campaign, then withheld critical funds and scheduled deployments in his second term.

When George W. Bush pulled out of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty – negotiated in the 1970’s with a nation that no longer exists – the Left branded him a “unilateralist...” Twenty-three years after President Reagan’s vision of “rendering these nuclear weapons impotent and obsolete,” the United States remains vulnerable to madmen like Kim Jong-il…or whoever purchases his wares. Ironically, the Left’s got it wrong on SDI twice: the mere idea of missile defense caused the Soviet Union to spend itself into bankruptcy, and the fact that it remains merely an idea emboldens tinhorn dictators to engage in nuclear blackmail.

The Left has specialized in sidelining those who would conduct a vigorous foreign policy, so impugning this president’s integrity as to render anything he says suspect... Even this has been insufficient for today’s partisans, who demand Bush’s full demonization. Comparisons to Hitler early became ubiquitous... If Kim Jong-il is insane, in the Left’s view, he is not materially worse than our president...

And there are troubling signs of a creeping failure of nerve. Chief of Staff Andy Card, brought in to “shake things up,” has publicly advocated firing Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld in favor of James A. Baker III. Jim “F-ck the Jews” Baker’s Iraq Study Group will soon release a study reported to call, in broad strokes, for the president to back down in Iraq, “the central front in the War on Terror.”

Today’s crisis has also raised eyebrows. According to early leaks of today’s UN Security Council proposal, the administration’s requested sanctions would exclude China’s oil trade, which provides some 85 percent of Pyongyang’s fuel.

The Bush administration could present a robust plan of action to the United Nations Security Council today as its needed rebound... The president would also be well advised to use the crisis to push through greater funding for missile defense, the only ultimate hope of “rendering these nuclear weapons impotent and obsolete.”

Or he could acquiesce to Foggy Bottom’s wisdom and issue yet another empty threat or ineffective sanctions package, followed by offers of diplomatic carrots, which would reinforce the growing perception that, rhetoric aside, the United States is too paralyzed by internal debate to prevent apocalyptic madmen from acquiring nuclear weapons.

Like a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq, backing down before Kim Jong-il’s pressure will send a clear message to people like Hugo Chavez, Evo Morales, and other aspiring tyrants...

Interesting, to say the least, to find such revelations---and seemingly grudging admiration for the Republican's effective use of the new media---in none other than the hard-left, Democrat-water-carrying, WaPo.

Beginning with the travails of " Former congressman Mark Foley (R-Fla.), Sen. George Allen (R-Va.), and former president Bill Clinton," who "had a televised temper fit when an interviewer challenged his terrorism record...

All three episodes..., were in their own ways signs of the unruly new age in American politics. Each featured an arresting personal angle. Each originally percolated in the world of new media -- Web sites and news outlets that did not exist a generation ago -- before charging into the traditional world of newspapers and television networks. In each case, the accusations quickly pivoted into a debate about the motivations and alleged biases of the accusers..."

And deservedly so, considering the timing of release of information and the short span of time left before a national election.

"Cumulatively, the stories highlight a new brand of politics in which nearly any revelation in the news becomes a weapon or shield in the daily partisan wars, and the aim of candidates and their operatives is not so much to win an argument as to brand opponents as fundamentally unfit.

In interviews, figures as diverse as Clinton, Vice President Cheney and White House strategist Karl Rove spoke about their experiences navigating the highly polarized and often downright toxic political and media environment that blossomed in the 1990s and reached full flower in recent years. Ken Mehlman, the RNC chairman and head of Bush's reelection campaign, said his operatives leaked to Drudge because it inevitably drove wider coverage, including to old media organizations: "He puts something up and they have to follow it..."

One of those who salutes the changing landscape -- with as much passion as Clinton deplores it -- is Cheney, who said he considers the breakdown of what he called an old media "monopoly" as among the most favorable trends of his years in politics. National Deficit and unemployment both down, average wages up... thanks to Bush's tax cuts and economic policies...!

Great news on the economic front! Revenues spurred by the Bush tax cuts have brought the deficit down to $250B---which is far less than was even projected by the Bush Administration. The unemployment rate fell from 4.7 to 4.6---the lowest point in 5 years. And average wages were up 4%.

Job numbers for September are estimated to be 51K, and that amount that could well be adjusted upward, as the August numbers were. August numbers were readjusted upward to 188K---and the readjusted numbers for March 2005 to March 2006 are 810K. These are numbers no one can legitimately criticize.

What is not mentioned in the two (linked to below) good news articles on the state of the labor market and economy is the fact that there were 17,000 fewer unemployment claims filed in September, 2006.

Further, the federal budget deficit estimate for the just ended fiscal year dropped to $250B, which is 10B below the Congressional Budget Office's estimate and 46B below Bush's most recent estimate. Bush's February budget predicted a $423B deficit, but higher than anticipated tax revenues spurred by the tax cuts have pared the deficit down to $250B.

This enormous one-year deficit reduction was accomplished in spite of the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars, which are the major fronts in the War Against Terrorism, the devastating costs of Hurricane Katrina, and the enormous costs for additional homeland security readiness and maintenance.

President Bush and the Republicans in Congress, who wisely passed the tax cuts and have been fighting to make and keep them permanent, now have bragging rights to this overwhelmingly positive economic success in the run-up to the 2006 election. They now need to claim the credit for it that they have earned and tout their success all over the country.

Not surprisingly, Democrats are either silent or slamming the 51K new jobs created in September. Not to worry, though. There's no way they can wipe the shine off a $173B deficit reduction in one year's time. It's just not a happenin' thang...!

The real story here is that the power-starved hard left sat on this story until they could spring it---as a late September, early October surprise---just six weeks before a national election. It was a political hit job designed and timed for maximum political damage to influence the election in favor of the Democrats.

The same is true of Bob Woodward's biased anti-administration political hit-tome, which is full of half-truths and whole lies, to create a media storm and help Democrats right before the election. Woodward acknowledged he purposely timed the release of his book for last week.

Such are the hard-left's on-going politics of personal destruction. They employ political smear weapons created and perpetuated by Clinton Democrats who now comprise a party permanently embittered by impeachment, the 2000 Bush election, and the 2004 Bush re-election. And now its payback time... again.

In 2004, it was the Bush National Guard service smear, along with other not-so-niceties. We knew it would be something just as fake, tacky, trumped-up and common this year to add to the endless cut-and-run-from-Iraq bleating. We just didn't expect it to be a saved-up-for-timely-effect smear on the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives, more NSA leaks dribbled out, and a new 9/11 blame-game, replete with more fake and baseless attacks on the Bush Administration and Republican leaders. Big difference this time: Bush is hitting back. Hard. And raising beaucoup de million$ for GOP candidates.

The same, underhanded smear-and-destroy tactics have already been used as a hit-weapon against U.S. Senator George Allen, (R-VA), who is up for re-election---including baseless attacks on his Jewish heritage and slanders accusing him of using a racist epithet, i.e. the "N" word. They used racist, anti-semitic slurs to smear him and paint him falsely as a racist---when they have their very own lifelong Democrat and former Grand Kleagle of the Ku Klux Klan, Senator Robert Byrd (D-WVa) who used the "N" word on national TV... TWICE. I saw and heard it myself, so I know its true.

Other attacks, including those in Woodward's book, have been aimed at the Bush administration---particularly at Bush's Sec. of State Condaleeza Rice and Sec. of Defense Don Rumsfeld. And, of course, there have been FOUR traitorous NSA leaks of highly classified national security intel documents to the traitorous mainstream media---the fourth one just published in the last few weeks.

If American voters fall for any of this political hype, tripe and compromising of national security by the ideas-and-courage-bankrupt Democrat hate-crowd and hand them this election, they deserve to be stupid. And they will deserve the extremist Congress they elect.

Problem is..., the rest of us don't deserve to have to live with the disastrous results that will ensue. So, we must work hard to peel away and expose all the layers of slander, libel, hypocrisy, faux indignation and undermining of our country and our security.

Funny, we don't hear the hard-left kvetching about Bill "pardon-political-cronies" Clinton---who conferred a last-minute-of-presidency pardon/commutation on a Democrat perverted lawmaker who had sex with a 16 year old female subordinate. The pardon was a favor to Clinton crony Jesse Jackson, who wandered outside of his marriage for sex and fathered an illegitimate child. Calls to mind young Monica, the Oval Office, cigars and a legendary blue dress.

With that, we can all skip the kvetching... and just retch.

President Bush attacks moderate Republicans' blocking of "Anti-Terror Bill." He calls on them to "Protect America!"

Faced with the opposition of Senators John McCain, Lindsay Graham, and John Warner, as well as increased moderate-to-liberalism coming in a swipe from the ungrateful former Secretary of State who was not retained, Colin Powell, President George W. Bush slammed their flawed logic and publicly fought for passage of the Anti-Terror bill pending in the U.S. Senate.

The House of Representatives' version of the bill is more in line with what the President has asked Congress for. Unfortunately for the American people, the House version is largely rejected by the newly-formed liberal-on-terror Senate Republican triumvirate, whose efforts to hamstring the CIA, Homeland Security and the United States military would deny them the very anti-terrorism interrogation methods they need in order gain actionable intelligence that will help protect our country from wholesale Islamofascist terrorism.

Bottom line, we are seeing here four old politicians, whose experience has been predominantly in old wars and conflicts, trying to set up a wall to block our country's ability to protect itself and grab some of the President's/Executive Branch's war powers and impede his carrying out his duty to protect the American people and the United States of America. They want to take from the President his power to provide fair but effective methods of "trial and interrogation of terror suspects" and prohibit him from continuing the CIA's detainee program.

This new obstructionist wall would be even more dangerous than the wall of separation built by the Clinton administration, which was deliberately constructed to keep our intelligence services and the FBI from communicating with one other---a seriously dangerous action that facillitated the terrorists' suicide bombing of the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon five years ago.

The on-going liberal war to weaken this country by weakening its ability to defend itself and to prosecute war is the most insidious threat facing Americans today. It must be stopped.

An interesting and very telling sidebar to this discussion is the fact that it is also RHINOs---Republicans-in-name-only like Arizona Senator John Mcain and his sidekick, Senator Lindsay Graham of South Carolina---who are promoting a Senate bill that would grant amnesty to at least 12 million illegal aliens, plus their extended families, and also hamstring the United States in a manner that would prevent it from enforcing its own border and immigration laws. In this effort, they have joined with hard-left liberals such as Democrat Senator Ted Kennedy and the rest of the hard-left in the Senate.

"President Bush fought back Friday against a Republican revolt in the Senate over tough anti-terror legislation and rejected warnings that the United States had lost the high moral ground to adversaries. "It's flawed logic," he snapped.

'If there's any comparison between the compassion and decency of the American people and the terrorist tactics of extremists, it's flawed logic,' Bush said. 'It's just - I simply can't accept that.'

Growing animated, he said, t's unacceptable to think that there's any kind of comparison between the behavior of the United States of America and the action of Islamic extremists who kill innocent women and children to achieve an objective.'

Bush said the Geneva Convention's ban was 'very vague' and required clarification. 'What does that mean, 'outrages upon human dignity?' That's a statement that is wide open to interpretation.'

He said that unless Congress acts, the CIA will end its program of tough interrogation methods that the administration says has prevented attacks. 'So Congress has got a decision to make,' Bush said. 'You want the program to go forward or not? I strongly recommend that this program go forward in order for us to be able to protect America...'"

On other issues, Bush said: He will not meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad next week while both are at the United Nations. The U.S. won't sit down with Iranians until they suspend nuclear enrichment, he said.

He would not have gone as far as House Majority Leader John Boehner of Ohio that Democrats "are more interested in protecting the terrorists than protecting the American people." "I wouldn't exactly put it that way," Bush said. But he said that "there's a difference in attitude" between Republicans and Democrats..."

Israel's new strategy is preparedness for war with terrorist nations Iran and Syria...

This comes as little surprise, considering Israel just got through defending itself from Iran and Syria's hired terrorist arms of the axis' formally agreed-upon military alliance.

With Hamas terrorists to the south, weakened but still present Hezbollah terrorists to the north, and bellicose Iran and Syria threatening on an almost-daily basis to annihilate Israelis and remove Israel from the map, the farcical "peace plan" with the "Palestinians" is now off the table. Why? Israel has to be prepared for the greater threat of all-out war on two fronts---as the two axis of evil nations necessarily come out from behind their surrogates.

With their terrorist surrogates weakened, shamed and suffering difficulties in getting re-armed by their closet patrons who fight in safety, the AOE (axis of evil) zealots are now forced out into the open for their war against Israel and the West. These anti-heroes are armed with vitriolic threatening mouths, as they stand safely behind banks of microphones and videocams that are at-the-ready for promoting jihad propaganda and political theatre. They will now have to become directly involved militarily, devoid of their many-layered human and terrorist shields.

Hezbollah dead were lumped in with Lebanon's totals of "civilians" killed as a result of Israeli fire. Why? Because they were civilians who were fighting in Lebanon---and were not soldiers representing any nation's known army. They were---and are---simply the terrorist arm of Iran's military and answer only to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.

Thus the current rush of Iranian Revolutionary Guards to Lebanon to prop up and re-arm the severely-routed surviving Hezbollah terrorists who have spent the past 6 years fortifying S. Lebanon in preparation for an attack on Israel.

Hezbollah started it. Israel ended it. Israel won. Victory by just surviving after being trounced... is no victory at all. If Israel hadn't pulled its punches at the behest of the "civilized" world community, there would have been few Hezbollah left standing to re-arm and re-fortify.

What a dark, sick joke! Hezbollah's terrorism is to "humanitarianism" as head-chopping is to peace.

This is typical New York Times-style anti-semitism and propaganda for the terrorist movement being promulgated by terrorism-supporting and exporting Iran and Syria. The only thing new about it is the Times' blatantly open propagandizing to increase the stature of Hezbollah and, through that, increase the stature of nuclear-terrorism wannabe Iran and its hand-maiden Syria.

This new show of support for terrorism is further proof that The New York Times is a traitorous hard-left mainstream media rag that needs to have its column space shrunk still further---to zero. A piddling 5% shrinkage just doesn't get the job done.

As could be expected, on Wednesday The New York Times rushed into print with a story about the wonderful compassion Hezbollah is showing in helping those in Lebanon's civilian population who suffered enormous damage during the hostilities between the terrorist group and the Israelis.

Under the banner line "Hezbollah Leads Work to Rebuild, Gaining Stature" the Times exuberantly described the extensive humanitarian efforts Hezbollah is exerting on behalf of the Lebanese people...

It's well known that the United States of America is the world's number-one provider of humanitarian aid – handing out billions to victims of wars and natural disasters in every corner of the globe, but you never see the Times going into spasms of adulation over our generosity. But let a declared enemy of the United States provide a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down to those suffering collateral damage as a result of their very own actions and the Times gets all gooey with worshipful admiration.

Hezbollah is a humanitarian organization in the same sense as the Mafia is a dispenser of charity and compassion. Hezbollah's leader, Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, sounded like the neighborhood Mafia don, offering money... to any Lebanese who lost his home in the month-long war.

It was his way of telling the people who their real friends are. It's not the toothless Lebanese government, he was telling them, but your friendly neighborhood hit men who have your best interests at heart...

This "Hezbollah-the-good" business is just one aspect of a war that has turned into a dark comedy. This comedy has elevated the status of a group of murderous thugs while humiliating the leadership of what has always been seen as the most-feared military force in the Middle East – the IDF - the Israeli army...

What could be more ludicrous than a cease fire whose conditions include the stipulation that the Lebanese army, or the United Nations, or a multi-national or just about anybody else around disarm Hezbollah?

The Lebanese army says it has no intention of doing so, and the planned multi-national force can't because it doesn't exist, and as a result Hezbollah continues to bristle with arms and is probably being supplied with more ordnance from Iran and Syria..."

Iran nuclear delegation is going to Russia for increasing nuclear cooperation that benefits Iran

According to a column at iranfocus, Iran will send a nuclear delegation to Russia in the coming week for a 4 day stay. This appears to be further evidence of Russia's determination to facilitate the completion of the axis of evil terrorist state's nuclear program---in my opinion, as a foil to the influence of the United States in the Middle East.

It also further reinforces my formerly-expressed opinion that the United States cannot count Russia among its "friends." Russian President Putin has never gotten past his KGB roots and still has an obvious animus toward this country and is firmly in terrorist Iran's Islamo-fascist corner and willing to sell it the wherewithall to help it become a nuclear power and threat in the greater Middle East.

In other words, Putin is not with the United States of America. He is with the terrorists.

Folks, here's another *****Five Star, must read posting by Mark Levin at National Review, "Wrong Again." As usual, Levin is spot-on in his analysis---this time of the "hostile" mainstream media's, and much of the world's, consistently inaccurate and biased reporting on every incident that involves Israel and its self-defense.

They incessantly blame Israel for every terrorist offensive and loss of civilian life, assuming up front that Israel is at fault---even when subjected to unprovoked bombing attacks by Iran and Syria-backed Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists. Always with the underlying presumption that Israel must make sacrifices in the face of terrorists' demands---in order to purchase "peace" at any price. Even at the price of Israel's destruction.

That doesn't conform to any concept of peace that is logical, rational or possible.

By the way, Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists are civilians. They dress as civilians while prosecuting war against Israel. They hide among other civilians and use them as dispensible human shields and targets for political propaganda and asymetrical warfare purposes.

But these terrorist civilians are not, themselves, civilized. They are civilian cowards engaged in barbaric cowardly acts masquerading as war. They hit and then run---to hide behind women, children and babies, knowing civilized armies will be loathe to hit them there.

Folks, there are several columns in today's news that demonstrate just how anti-Semitic and pro-terrorists U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan is. It is stunning, really. And it is nothing new.

The difference is that Annan has now lost his cool and is frantically trying to escalate his long-running practice of using the United Nations as a weapon against Israel---and is making demands of Israel that he has no right, authority, credibility or impartiality to make. Witness his false accusation against Israel that Israeli troops "apparently deliberately targeted" UNIFIL installations and workers in Lebanon. What, exactly made that "apparent?" Other than Annan's historic hatred against Israel, that is.

UNIFIL's U.N. flag was flown beside the flag of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. It is possible Hezbollah terrorists were firing at Israeli troops from UNIFIL's area. It's also possible that Annan left the impotent do-nothing UNIFIL in S. Lebanon for almost 30 years, since 1978, to assure that Israel would not attack Hezbollah.

It is also possible---even likely---that the present pro-Hezbollah leader of Lebanon and some Hezbollah terrorists were brought into elected office by unlawful votes of the one million Syrians who were re-settled by Syria into Lebanon and never left, as well as the Syrian secret intelligence operatives who did not leave Lebanon along with the pressured-out Syrian army. And by the many thousands of Syrian "guest workers" who are not Lebanese citizens.

When Israel first took strong action against Hezbollah following the recent kidnappings and attacks by Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon and Hamas terrorists in Gaza, Palestinian Territories, I saw Annan on FNS defending Syria and Iran as "friendly governments" and characterizing the battles as between "the governments of Israel and Hezbollah."

Since when is Hezbollah a "government?" It is not the official government of Lebanon, even though it has taken over many of the functions of government---the ones that give Hezbollah control over the Lebanese people who have become dependent on Hezbollah and Iran's money for many basic needs.

Annan, as Secretary General of the U.N., has been calling for urgent humanitarian relief for the people of Lebanon. He has not once called for any humanitarian relief for the long-suffering innocent people of Israel who are the victims of thousands of Iran and Syria-supplied rockets and missiles fired indiscriminately into heavily populated cities with the sole aim of killing as many Israelis as possible---men, women and children.

Annan's using his position at the U.N. to run around the world and in front of every possible videocam and mike in a desperate attempt to save Hezbollah from sure defeat demonstrates his pro-terrorist agenda and where his true allegiance lies.

Annan is not with us or with democracy. He is with the terrorists and the terrorist nations Iran and Syria. No doubt he is himself an Islamo-fascist Muslim. His ideology and agenda have infected the United Nations itself and relegated it to being the corrupt and worthless failure that it is.

Big win for private property owners in Ohio: Ohio Supreme Court rejected taking of property through eminent domain.

This is great news for the citizens of Ohio and throughout the United States. It is a victory over unjust "eminent domain" conscription of private property for the economic gain of a private corporation and greedy local government and will serve as an important precedent-setting case and determiner of what legally constitutes "public use," "public good," and "deterioration."

The Court ruled that there has to be a higher threshhold for a determination of "deterioration" of a property, for it is a nebulous and subjective term that can be abused in the condemnation process. As presently used in many states since Kelo, "deterioration" is in the eye of whomever is making a grab for a private individual's property for other than public use and without just cause.

This ruling is also a strong rejection of the notorious Kelo decision that allowed the taking of an 84 year old woman's home of many years---a nice home that was in very good condition---for private economic development that would have a higher tax base.

The ruling against Mrs. Kelo in Connecticut was a travesty. Conversely, the City of Norwood, Ohio, lost their "eminent domain" case against two couples because they didn't follow their state's constitution, they wanted the homes condemned to make way for private economic development, and they claimed "deterioration" when it did not exist (just like in Kelo).

Folks, this is a powerful analysis by Victor Davis Hanson, "A Strange War: Israel is at last being given an opportunity to unload on jihadists," of the welcome job Israel is at last able to perform in isolating and stomping Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists, while their patron-states Iran and Syria---who necessarily have to stay on the carping-and-threatening-only sidelines---are more and more isolated and viewed as pariah nations.

This is the view even in the Middle East, where a number of countries refuse to either support Hezbollah's and Hamas' current unrestrained and disproportionate terrorist attacks on Israel or condemn Israel's hitting the terrorists back in Lebanon and Gaza.

Call it whatever you want. I call it poetic justice. Especially when the U.S. refuses to interfere with Israel's prosecution of its self-defense in the face of Islamo-fascist terrorism and when Iran and Syria know that if they openly attack Israel or interfere directly in Lebanon or Gaza, the U.S. will help Israel smack them down and remove their WMD capabilities before they get an opportunity to use them.

It appears that Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas are accumulating a significant amount of egg on their all-of-a-sudden less-boasting faces. They are now reduced to holding the weak government in Lebanon hostage, intimidating them to the point of announcing they will support Hezbollah in battle if Israel invades Lebanon. I saw the hesitant, unconvincing announcement a few minutes ago on FNC. It was a feeble and uninspired declaration of their will to fight.

The sad truth is that their rag-tag troops would be very little help to terrorists-for-hire Hezbollah and would probably be shoved out in front as human shields for the only-brave-when-planting-IEDs, beheading innocents, firing missiles provided to them by their terrorist patron-states, and hiding behind civilian populations.

Even the toothless U.N. finally is forced to focus on Iranian nukes and Syrian murder plots. And neither Syria can overturn the Lebanese government nor can Iran the Iraqi democracy. Instead, both are afraid that their rhetoric may soon earn some hard bombing, since their “air defenses” are hardly defenses at all...

For their part, the terrorist killers hope to kidnap, ransom, and send off missiles, and then, when caught and hit, play the usual victim card of racism, colonialism, Zionism, and about every other -ism that they think will win a bailout from some guilt-ridden, terrorist-frightened, Jew-hating, or otherwise oil-hungry Western nation.

The only difference from the usual scripted Middle East war is that this time, privately at least, most of the West, and perhaps some in the Arab world as well, want Israel to wipe out Hezbollah, and perhaps hit Syria or Iran. Kofi Annan's "common ground" means Israel's ground is up for grabs by Islamo-fascist terrorists barbaric enough to slaughter Israelis and take it... And Israel can't fight back to defend it.

In Annan's philosophy of equivalence, all things are equal as long as Israel employs the U.N.'s mandate of "restraint" and proportionality." In Kofi-speak, that means Israel gives in to annihilation and Islamo-fascists take Israel's historic homeland.

Seems pro-terrorist, anti-Semitic Kofi believes some Middle-East entities' rights are just more equal than Israel's rights---especially its right to exist. What's totally missing from his discriminatory idea of "common ground" is common sense.

Folks, in today's nysun, there is a very interesting column, "Leading Saudi Sheik Pronounces Fatwa Against Hezbollah," that explains why Muslims are not only not unified in support of Hezbollah and their kidnapping of Israeli troops in Lebanon and Gaza, they are also not rushing to the defense of Hezbollah spiritual leader in Lebanon, Hassan Nasrallah.

Further, they are condemning Iran's imperial ambitions and their (Hezbollah) proxies' showering missiles onto Israel and running raids across Israel's borders.

It appears that infighting among various Islamic sects is also at the heart of the bloody sectarian violence going on in Iraq that threatens to weaken the new government and drag the country into a wider civil war.

It also appears Hezbollah was laboring under the false impression that the entire Arab world would rush to help them, for it has not occurred.

And, once again, U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan acts, inappropriately, to condemn the democratic nation of Israel for protecting itself from unilateral terrorist-initiated attacks... by Hezbollah in Lebanon and by Hamas in Gaza. And to demand a cease-fire.

Just how does a sovereign nation effect and maintain a cease-fire with terrorists---a cease-fire to which the terrorists will commit and that they will maintain? How do you take the word of terrorists who are committed to your destruction?

Strange, isn't it, for the leader of an international body set up to promote peace to not be concerned about terrorist attacks on Israel, yet to be concerned for the protection of the ability of terrorists to prosecute attacks against the lawful sovereign nation of Israel---in order to fulfill their messianic mission to annihilate all Israelis?

It's not only strange..., it's criminal. It is providing aid and comfort to the terrorists---and to the terrorist nations of Iran and Syria, for whom they are surrogates.

It's time to quit talking around the facts and picking on Israel for defending itself. And it's time to hold the terrorist nations of Iran and Syria accountable. Now.

I am proud that America is standing with Israel and that the U.S. House of Representatives passed a Resolution today supporting Israel and condemning the terrorists, just as the U.S. Senate did yesterday. The approval of the House Resolution was just announced on Fox News Channel.

Breaking News: Corrupt U.N. Sec. General Kofi Annan again sides with the terrorists against Israel by condemning Israel...

No surprise here! Today, Kofi Annan again abused his position of power at the United Nations by advocating for both Lebanon and Gaza, from where Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists have initiated attacks on Israel, and by condemning Israel for "disproportionate violence" and using defense initiatives to protect its citizens, nation and sovereignty.

It was an inappropriate and ill-timed imperial grab of power and authority for the U.N., through condemnation of Israel and a demand for an immediate cease-fire. It was also unacceptable discrimination against U.N. member-nation Israel and a slap in the face of the United States, which was known to support Israel's right to both exist and defend itself.

A cease-fire would benefit only the terrorists, who could then re-group, recoup their losses, and remain in control of a large portion of Lebanon. And would leave Israel to face those same terrorists again in the future, possibly better armed and fortified next time.

Annan did not bother to mention the "disproportionate violence" and lack of "restraint" of Hezbollah in launching almost 2,000 missiles, indiscriminately and unprovoked, into the sovereign nation of Israel---from the sovereign nation of Lebanon.

The sovereign nation of Lebanon is, by international law, responsibile for any and all attacks launched against a foreign nation from within their territory---even if those attacks are committed by terrorists operating unilaterally from their territory.

Lebanon has been required since 2004, by U.N. Resolution 1559, to disarm Hezbollah and use the Lebanese Army to police its border with Israel and prevent attacks against Israel. They have failed to implement and enforce Resolution 1559 or to seek help from the international community in doing so.

Annan sympathizes with Lebanon and Gaza and their suffering injury and destruction from battles that originated, in the first instance, from their own respective countries---while not expressing similar concern for Israelis who have suffered or been kidnapped, wounded, or killed by Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists.

Most of the terrorist attacks on Israel are coming from Hezbollah-controlled areas of Lebanon, some parts of which even the Lebanese Army is forbidden from entering. Hezbollah is operating as a terrorist state within a sovereign state and the Lebanese government and army have, de facto, allowed them to do so.

Hezbollah is also using the Lebanese people as human shields to assure that innocent civilians are killed by Israel---because it serves the terrorists' political mission that they have the deaths of innocents to scream about to the international community and engender more support for Hezbollah and Hamas and their patron-states, Iran and Syria. They strive to make Israel a pariah nation that people of countries the terrorists occupy will believe is O.K. to wipe off the map.

It is clear that Annan is trying to prejudice the Security Council's actions when they meet in the near future, as well as prejudice the outcome of their deliberations by making up-front declarations as to what has to happen with regard to Israel's defensive actions. He is also seizing this as an opportunity to influence handing over disputed Israel-Lebanon border territory along the Bekaa Valley, including Chabaa Farms, to Lebanon. It appears he wants make a permanent "blue line" that accommodates Lebanon and the terrorists.

Annan has demonstrated that the U.N. is squarely in the terrorists' camp on day 9 of the Israeli military's defense of Israel against aggression and war initiated by Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon and Hamas terrorists in Gaza---terrorists who are proxies for their terrorist-master Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei in Iran and his lackey, Bashar al-Assad of Syria. Indeed, both the President of Iran and Secretary General of Hezbollah have overtly declared war against both Israel and the United States.

So, here we have---in plain view---the fact that U.N. Secretary General Annan (today) and his sidekick at the U.N. Mark Malloch Brown (a few days ago) are on the record as being against Israel and "with the terrorists"---not "with us." "Us" would be all democratic free nations that operate under the rule of law. Israel is a democratic free nation that operates under the rule of law and did not initiate the present conflicts in Lebanon and Gaza.

It is very telling that, during Annan's address today, he did not ever mention the words "terrorists" or "terrorism." Not even once. Nor did he condemn the terrorists and their terrorism. He was too busy condemning Israel, as usual.

Annan did bring up the subject of INIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon here) and the fact that its mandate expires on July 31, 2006. INIFIL has been a totally worthless "peacekeeping force" whose flag has flown in the Bekaa Valley right next to the flag of Hezbollah, where INIFIL has done absolutely nothing to stop the illegal terrorist actions of Hezbollah against Israel. This is more proof that the U.N. is "with the terrorists." INIFIL's mandate should absolutely not be renewed.

If there is to be an international force in the area to keep the peace and fully implement Resolution 1559, it should be under the auspices of NATO or a newly-created international force---totally apart from the corrupt and feckless United Nations.

It is probably best that Annan revealed his terrorist-hugging, biased position in his speech today, for now Israel will know for certain that they have to go on and totally get the job done in both Lebanon and Gaza and deep-six any opportunity for the United Nations to muck-around in any decision-making process about how Israel puts an end to the terrorist menace once and for all.

Folks, here is a *****Five Star, must read column that provides an astute analysis of the history of free nations' "restraint" and appeasement in the face of terrorism and why it is irrational to demand "restraint" now on the part of Israel, a democratic nation that has been subjected to an unprovoked attack against it by Iranian and Syrian-backed Hezbollah terrorists.

Israel has already been pushed into years of such "restraint" and appeasement of Islamo-fascists while they have been the victims of continuous terrorist attacks against their law-abiding citizens and their lawful nation.

The logical conclusion of the analysis is that, for the Israelis---and for all free nations---restraint in the fight against Islamo-fascists terrorists means genocide for the targets of those terrorists who rely on their prey's restraint and willingness to appease. Restraint and appeasement haven't worked in the past and they won't work now.

The terrorists must be stopped now and their means to prosecute terrorism must be obliterated. Every time they manage to survive to terrorize again, it grows their terror cult exponentially---like a multi-headed hydra that, when one head is cut off, others take its place.

You cannot simply cut off the terrorist multi-headed monster's heads, you must destroy the source and power that feeds the monster and enables all the heads to grow. That would include Iran and Syria and their Hezbollah and Hamas surrogates who are attacking Israel or dispatched around the world to terrorize free nations.

Restraint in the face of terrorism is weakness that sacrifices all that is good to the insatiable appetite of evil.

Breaking News! Fox News Channel has just announced that a Katusha missile fired from Lebanon has hit the holy city of Nazareth, killing at least two Israeli children. The missile was fired either by Iran's proxy in Lebanon---Hezbollah---or by Iranian Republican Guard troops, 200 of whom are reported to be inside Lebanon assisting Hezbollah in their unprovoked hostage-taking and bombing attack against the nation of Israel.

To date Hezbollah has rained down over 1,500 missiles into Israel, one of which hit an Israeli ship and was a longe-range guided ballistic missile believed to have been provided by Iran and brought into Lebanon from Syria. It is also believed that the elite Iranian Republican Guard troops either fired or aided in the firing of this high-tech guided missile that hit the Israeli ship, killing four Israelis.

Update: Breitbart is reporting that "A Hezbollah rocket slammed into a building Wednesday in the mainly Arab town of Nazareth, killing two children and wounding at least two other people, Israeli authorities said... The two children were killed by a direct hit from a Katyusha rocket on the building, the army said.

Nazareth, in northern Israel, is revered as the hometown of Jesus and is filled with churches. It was not immediately clear if any holy sites were damaged. The town is about 19 miles from the Lebanese border..."

Update #2: The death toll from the Hezbollah terrorist-fired missile that hit the holy city of Nazareth in northern Israel is reported, by FNC, to now be three.

Also, Haaretz reports that the first two children originally reported killed were Arab Israeli children. "Rabia Abed Taluzi and his older brother Mahmoud, were killed by a direct hit from a rocket in the yard of their family home on their way to visit their uncle in a nearby house, the Israel Defense Forces said.... A second rocket struck a building in the city's commercial center. Smoke billowed from a damaged building and its roof appeared mostly destroyed... Mohammed Assawi, who saw the fatal attack, told Channel 10 television that the rocket that killed the two children struck in the middle of a downtown street..."

Big surprise! DFL's endorsed candidate for MN Attorney General, Matt Entenza has quit the race and will also not run to retain his seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives where he was Minority Leader.

This is a big plus for Republicans, especially since the deadline for filing occurred less than six hours before Entenza announced he was pulling out of the AG race. Republicans can remind voters of the problems about Entenza's dishonesty, his dirt-digging opposition research against another Democrat contender, and his wife's questionable $30M in stock options and their use.

Well, DUH...! Who cares whether Iran calls it "official policy" or not. They are the ones responsible for what Hizbollah does. Hizbollah is a creation of Iran. It takes its direction from and answers to the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei who is the head honcho of the axis of evil terrorist nation of Iran. Khamenei is Mad Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's boss-mullah. Mad Mahmoud is just the lunatic they push out in front to cover for the terrorist mullahs.

U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton succeeded today, after his strong leadership and almost daily televised communication with the American people et al, in getting a forceful Resolution passed unanimously by the U.N. Security Council to hold North Korea to account for its violations of the requirements of the international community. The Resolution requires that N. Korea uphold its agreed-upon commitments/treaties, cease all violations of those agreements, suspend all missile tests now, and cease proliferation of banned weapons and weapons-technology sales.

As Bolton said in his strong address following the unanimous vote of the Council, "this is the first such Resolution since 1993." He added that "we look forward to N. Korea's unconditional and immediate compliance with this Resolution."

It took unrelenting negotiation and convincing to get Russia and China to finally reach the point of agreeing to sign on to a Resolution with teeth in it, but they finally came around after communications with N. Korea did not produce acceptable results.

It probably didn't hurt that, in the latter part of this week, Bolton openly responded to a press question about what China would do---by responding that a vote would be called for and it would be up to China make their decision whether to vote in agreement, abstain or have the world see them veto this important and necessary Resolution.

It probably also didn't hurt that the G-8 met during this same time frame and the U.S. took the bold step of nixing membership in the WTO for Russia. This comes at a time when Russia is forcefully striving to rebuild its influence, particularly among the breakaway states of the former U.S.S.R., many of which have chosen to establish democratic forms of government following the breakup of that Communist amalgam. Ukraine and Georgia, for example.

It also comes at a time that Russian President Vladimir Putin is back-sliding and reversing democratic reforms that took place in Russia following that dissolution. Putin's distaste for President George W. Bush's recent criticisms about his back-sliding resulted in his taking public potshots at Bush---at a highly visible press event in St. Petersburg, Russia, where both leaders took questions. Not exactly a diplomatic or dignified action on the part of Bush's G-8 host.

At 1:30 p.m. today, following the Security Council's vote on the N. Korea Resolution, N. Korea's Ambassador to the U.N. Pak Gil Yon said that N. Korea totally rejects the resolution. This comes as no surprise. What remains to be seen is whether N. Korea will actually follow through on their choice to fly in the face of the international community and remain a genocidal pariah nation that is sustained by handouts from other nations---handouts that enable it to further build its expanding nuclear military state on the corpses of millions of its citizens it has willfully starved to death.

Now that we have a Resolution against renegade N. Korea, we need to get a strong U.N. Resolution condemning and prohibiting renegade Islamo-fascist Iran's continued nuclear development---which is designed to provide them with nuclear weapons they can use against Israel and the West and to dominate and/or subjugate their Middle East neighbors---and requiring Iran to open their entire nuclear development and weapons facilities for inspection and monitoring.

Such a resolution should include automatic and immediate sanctions and blockades, should Iran fail to abide by the Resolution. If those actions don't deter axis-of-evil terrorist Iran, then we have no choice but to destroy their nuclear program in its entirety, remove the messianic terrorist Mullahs and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad from power, and turn the Iranian government over to its people---to establish a government of, by and for the Iranian people.

Why not a Marshall-style plan for Middle East terrorist supporting and exporting countries like Iran and its sidekick Syria to help their citizenry transition to free and democratic governments? A planned process where education in democratic governance precedes turnover, in increments, of the full powers of government---to build a government that has a body of law that is not centered around the now-distorted anti-democratic Islamic religion with its totally discriminatory and anti-democratic Shari'ia law.

A dark age culture of barbarism, terrorism and death has no place in a civilized modern world.

Which is the greater gamble...?

This is also a developing story at Drudge Report. Neither FNC nor Drudge have the details of the suit yet.

However, I think this is a wonderful opportunity to get depositions and testimony from the horses' mouths. The horses I'm referring to are Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson, IV, her Democrat political operative husband who has already been proven to have lied about his findings in Niger---where he went on a junket, after having been promoted for the job by none other than CIA non-covert analyst wifey-poo herself---to find out about Saddam Hussein's efforts to obtain yellow-cake for his nuclear weapons of mass destruction program.

That politically opportunist mission was then turned into a materially false attack on President George W. Bush and his administration by said Joe Wilson, who accused the White House of attacking his veracity and exposing his wife in retaliation for his report.

Wilson and his wife engineered a political hit on Bush and the Iraq War, then screamed retaliation and exposure to try to get someone in the Bush Administraton indicted and "frog-marched out of the White House." They failed. Independent Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald indicted no one for outing Valerie Plame.

As Bob Novak, who was on Fox News Channel shows last night and this morning, explained: Valerie Plame Wilson was not a covert agent and had been at an analyst desk job for three years and no underlying crime was found to have been committed. In other words, there was no there there.

Soooo...., it will be interesting to see just what all is in Plame-Wilson's political lawsuit. And what information she and hubby will have to give up in discovery.

In my opinion, Cheney, Rove and Libby should counter-sue for expended legal fees and pain and suffering for having been forced to defend themselves against false charges, slander, libel and damage to their professional reputations by Plame, Wilson and their hard-left mainstream media cheerleaders and publicists.

Maybe Libby will be able to use this lawsuit to obtain some of the information denied to him in defending himself from a specious political prosecution related to the case that was no case.

Update: FNC's Brit Hume just reported that Valerie Plame-Wilson's basis for her suit is the destruction of her career, conspiracy, and violation of her husband's civil rights. Pardon me, but wouldn't Joe Wilson be the only one who would have standing to sue for a violation of his civil rights?

Sounds like just another bizarre junk lawsuit to me. Something they can hype up, gain more notoriety out of and then write a book to capitalize on.

Breaking News! U.S. again used its veto to block an anti-Israel United Nations resolution to keep Israel from defending itself from terrorist attacks

Breaking news! Breitbart is reporting that the U.S. has vetoed the U.N. resolution "urging end to Israeli attacks in Gaza."

As packed as the Security Council is with anti-U.S., anti-Israel, anti-Iraq War nations, it's no surprise that the majority voted for this resolution, while four lily-livered nations abstained and the U.S. had to veto it---rather than allow another anti-Semitic resolution to emerge from the anti-Semitic United Nations that has churned out a multitude of resolutions against Israel.

The corrupt U.N. has consistently supported Palestinian terrorism against Israel, as well as literally and admittedly supporting terrorist-funding by and through some of the U.N.'s 81 affiliated "humanitarian" agencies.

According to the just-posted column in Breitbart, "The United States vetoed a UN draft resolution that would have called for an end to Israeli attacks and "disproportionate use of force" in the Gaza Strip as well as for the release of a kidnapped Israeli soldier...

Explaining his negative vote, US Ambassador John Bolton described the text as "unbalanced" and was "not only untimely but also outmoded" because of the attacks against Israel by Lebanese Hezbollah militants and UN chief Kofi Annan's decision to send a crisis team to the region.

He said adoption of the resolution would have exacerbated tensions in the region and would have undermined "our vision of two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security..."

According to Michael Ledeen in "The Same War: Hezbollah, natch," Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's top-boss---Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameni---also said of the United States and Israel, "neither can sustain prolonged conflict and significant casualties... Meanwhile..., the terrorists are all working for Iran, and we will expand the terror war."

Those stunning statements were made last year. They demonstrate that the Mullahs were planning to expand their terror war all along and are brazen enough to brag that all of the terrorists are in their employ. So, why have we been offering carrots to Iran's terrorist leaders, when their own plainly stated objectives clearly show they will only respond to sticks---and they are confident we dont have either the sticks or the stick-to-it-iveness it takes to sustain prolonged conflict or significant casualties because we are politically paralyzed?

From where did Iran's Supreme Leader draw these conclusions? There is one glaring answer. They have observed---no doubt with much glee---that the anti-war hard-left's political and media war against the Bush Administration on all fronts, sabotaging our intelligence community's efforts, and demoralizing our troops who are prosecuting the war have exacted a price too dear, making us appear to be in a weakened holding pattern and lacking the resolve to stay the course and win the war.

And, of course, they have been buying time to complete their nuclear enrichment in order to produce nuclear weapons, while toying with the goodie-bag-promoting appeasement negotiators as a cat toys with a mouse---before killing it. Not to satisfy the hunger for food. Only to satisfy the deep-seated hunger for the killing.

Actually, it is Iran et al who are between a rock and a hard place. First, they see that the war in Iraq has turned a corner, Iraqi civilians are now helping the war effort, and many of Iran's terrorists and terrorist leaders in Iraq have been killed. Second, they know they are in a battle against time for completion of their nuclear enrichment before the international effort to stop them gels.

So they stir up a hornet's nest for Israel on two fronts---to gin up Islamic support throughout the Middle East against Israel and the U.S.---and continue trying to foment civil war in Iraq by playing two ends against the middle and infiltrating Iraqi police ranks. All while saber-rattling and threatening all out devastating war.

Me, I believe terrorist Iran has over-played its hand and exposed its game plan. I also believe there is only a small window of opportunity to nip their outrageous terrorist offensive in the bud and hold them accountable. Hopefully, our government and allies will not drag their feet and fail to act strongly to stop Iran now---before that window slams shut and Iran's Islamo-fascist Supreme Leader, who is on a messianic mission, has his finger on the nuclear-weapons button.

Hizbollah is Iran's and Syria's partner in feeding instability in Iraq as there were evidence that this terror group has a role in equipping and training insurgents in Iraq and Hizbollah had more than once openly showed support for the “resistance” in Iraq and sponsored the meetings of Baathist and radical Islamist militants who are responsible for most of the violence in Iraq.

Notice, please, that he says Iran “sponsored the meetings of Baathist and radical Islamist militants...” He is talking Sunnis here, the same Sunnis who, according to CIA deep thinkers and scads of academic experts, cannot possibly work closely with Shiites like, ahem, the mullahs of Tehran. Iraq the Model isn’t burdened by this wisdom, and so he just reports what he sees on the ground in his own country.

Notice also that over the weekend there was a “security summit” in Tehran, involving all of Iraq’s neighbors, at which Iran’s moonbat President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad made one of his trademark understatements about Israel. “The existence of this regime will bring nothing but suffering and misery for people in the region,” he mildly commented, and then said that the anger of the people might soon “lead to a vast explosion that will know no boundaries. Sounds to me like he knew something before the rest of us..."

The Secretary of Defense, the President, the Secretary of State and the National Security Advisor didn't hear, see, speak of, or find anything they considered important enough to keep them from making a reckless deal with the be-deviled dictator of N. Korea who starved 2 million of his own people---to build a million-man military and nuclear weapons. Not smart move, that.

They didn't follow Ronald Reagan's shared wisdom, "trust, but verify." Madame Secretary Allbright and Kim Jong Il toasted the "trust" part.
